I work with a variety of clays, a white stoneware for functional work,
paperclay and earthenware for sculptural work. All of my functional work is
thrown and altered, decorated for the most part with high gloss glazes,
especially Tenmokus and rutiles, and fired to cone 10 reduction. My
sculptural pieces are handbuilt, decorated with low-fire underglazes,
overglazes,and lustres and fired to cone 06-04 oxidation. Finally, some
pieces are assembled with epoxy cements and may be further decorated with
acrylic paints and texture media. |
